EXTREME WARFARE REVENGE: TNA 2010 – UPDATE #1

impact20101280x800

How’s it going everybody? Thomas Robinson here once again to bring you our very first TNA EWR update, where we basically tell you were things are going in our Extreme Warfare Revenge universe and what to expect in the future.

As you will have noticed, the TNA series has returned and in full force. We returned with Bound For Glory and we’ve seen a number of posts since. We did BFG, an Impact special “Joker’s Wild”, Turning Point and Final Resolution. That’s a lot to take in so what we’re going to do is drop the links to all the parts down below…

Part 1 – Destination X

Part 2 – Lockdown

Part 3 – Sacrifice

Part 4 – Slammiversary

Part 5 – Victory Road

Part 6 – Hard Justice

Part 7 – No Surrender

Part 8 – Bound For Glory

Part 9 – Joker’s Wild Special

Part 10 – Turning Point

Part 11 – Final Resolution

Any posts you’ve missed or if you just want to go back and get yourself clued up on what’s happened in this series, there are all the links you need.

For those of you that are new to the series, TNA has changed quite a bit. Allow me to give you a bit more detail on the current storylines I’ve got running as we’ve wrapped up 2010 and are now going into 2011!

Plot

TNA-Wrestling-Logo

AJ Styles was TNA World Heavyweight Champion at the start of the series and he went through a lot of competition including the likes of Kurt Angle. He did drop the belt to Jeff Hardy but quickly won it back. After retaining at Bound For Glory, he was met with a new challenger… AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA!

That joke will never get old in my mind!

Seriously, Cena did win the TNA World title from Styles and goes into 2011 strong as our top guy.

Currently running the ship is Interim General Manager Kurt Angle. Hulk Hogan had been running things since the start of the game (as well as Bischoff until Bischoff retired in the game). However, Hogan was mysteriously taken out leaving Kurt Angle to be named as the head honcho of TNA for now. The heel Sting had questioned Hogan’s intentions in the past but what will the Stinger make of Kurt Angle being in charge? What impact will Sting and Angle have on TNA in 2011?

There’s been plenty of stables on the scene as well including the likes of Reckless Ambition headed by L.A. Par-K and the British Invasion. A new stable has just emerged called “Global Supremacy” (led by Desmond Wolfe) but the most prominent group has been Extreme Coalition. Raven and Rhino have been tearing up the TNA Tag Team division as champions but will there be more additions to the group?

There’s been a number of new signings over the year. Along with John Cena has been Rey Mysterio that’s been able to mix it up with the bright X-Division stars like Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels and the Motor City Machine Guns.

There’s also a number of developmental stars waiting for their chance to shine and also stars like El Generico, Kevin Steen and Claudio Castagnoli hoping to break out as top talents in the company.

It’s an exciting future for this game and we’ve just actually become the top promotion in the company in terms of public image (which determines where the company’s are in terms of size). We’re still behind the WWE in PPV buys though so that’ll be something we’re hoping to surpass them in.

Schedule

StormvsRoodeTNABFGBIG

Our last post was Final Resolution and we’ve actually done two PPVs since then which just need writing up. Both Genesis and Against All Odds have been done and graded by the game and we’re hoping to have Genesis up on the blog soon. I’m hoping to have at least one new post up by next Friday so stay tuned for that.

For the time being, I’m going to stick with just doing the TNA series. The WCW series is obviously the more developed one that has really helped the blog out but I’ve noticed that the TNA series has actually been effective in its own right. We decided that we might as well give it the chance to shine. Also, I wanted to have a break from the WCW series and it’s good to try something else! Don’t worry though WCW fans. We will be coming back to it… eventually!

Knockouts Division

kimterrell

I know the Knockouts division hasn’t really been a big deal in the series but we do have a bit of announcement regarding its status. Our champion ODB recently jumped ship to the WWE meaning that the title has been vacated. We had a look at the roster and judging by how much we’ve not used a lot of the women, we’ve put the division on halt for a bit. The title has been suspended and we’re probably not going to crown a new champion until later on in the year when a few of the developmental female stars join the main roster. Trust me, we’ll come back stronger than ever with the TNA knockouts!

However, we do have a number of other signings that have joined us in recent months. The likes of Konnan and Primo Colon have joined the Reckless Ambition stable and the Hart Dynasty has also joined us. I mentioned DH Smith was signed to the company at Final Resolution but Tyson Kidd has also came on board. I’m hoping to do a lot with them.

There’s been a few signings but other than Cena and Mysterio, no major ones that will be a big part of the PPVs. I’ve signed independent stars like Joey Ryan but he’s not really been over enough to be featured on the main shows. Also, AAA snapped up Ryan on a written contract from under my nose just recently! -.-

I can reveal though that TWO new big signings will be revealed soon so stay tuned for that. I’ll actually give you two clues for each of the new signings.

  1. The first new signing has been a huge star in Mexico and has actually had a rare five star rated match from Dave Meltzer at Wrestling Observer.
  2. The second signing is former multi-time world champion for WWE AND has appeared in the last ten Wrestlemania events.

So there you go. There are your clues. They’ll both be revealed in due time.

That’ll wrap things up for this update. Again, be sure to follow @ArmbarExpress on Twitter for news on when Genesis and Against All Odds are up!

EXTREME WARFARE REVENGE: WCW 1998 – UPDATE #4

Hello everybody!

Part 27 of the Extreme Warfare Revenge series is on its way. It’ll be Starrcade 2000 and we’ve got a huge main event with Booker T defending the WCW Championship against Chris Jericho AND Eddie Guerrero in a triple threat match. That card has already been booked and saved on the game and we’ve moved onto 2001. At the start of the new year, the game compiles a list of the 100 Top Workers in the game. It’s sort of like the PWI 500 list from real life to determine who is the best worker in the world.

In this game, WCW dominated this list. WCW’s own Chris Jericho topped the list, having incredibly in-game stats that put him leagues ahead of everyone else. And to show you just how great we looked on this list, check out the top 11 wrestlers in this list…

wcwrules

Yep, we DESTROYED the WWF in this list! Shawn Michaels and Owen Hart were in the mix for them, but everyone else is fighting for good old WCW! There’s a lot of cruiserweights in the mix like Jeff Hardy and Jamie Noble. Another interesting one is Lodi, who’s apart of the Exiles group. Perhaps he needs a push?

NOTE: The reason it says 2017 on the screen is because the game uses the computer clock to work out a in-game calendar. I started this last year and we’re a few years into the in-game calendar, so it’s added up to us being in 2017 in the game. I could solve this by setting back my computer clock. However, I AM NOT changing my computer clock back to 1998!

So yeah, just a little post to share with you guys on the WCW series. Another little thing to add. If you guys recall, I began a mini-series on a wrestler I hired called Daniel Biggerstaff. He had the worst stats in the game and I wanted to see how much I could develop him if I signed him to a year contract. I started doing the Daniel Biggerstaff challenge and immediately shot him in NXT. He’s now three months into his contract so let’s see how much he’s improved in 3 months!

biggerstaff2

His overness has went up by 6 points! So it’s nice to know that he’s slowly beginning to get over with the crowd… slightly! His brawling stats went up by 4, his speed went up by 5, his technical stats went up by 4 and his charisma has went up by 3. His charisma seems to need a lot more work done than the rest but he’s slowly developing! It’s a work in progress!

There’s also one little funny picture which I shared on the @ArmbarExpress Twitter which I’m gonna shot on here. I basically tried to change Ernest Miller’s gimmick. I hadn’t really done a lot with Ernest in this EWR universe but I still wanted to keep him to see how he did on TV and stuff. His gimmick was “Martial Arts” so I wanted to change it to “Dancer” considering that was his big gimmick. This was the reply I got from Ernest in the game…

Anyway, that’s the end of the EWR update! Be sure to check out the rest of the content on the Armbar Express!

EXTREME WARFARE REVENGE: WCW 1998 – UPDATE #3

ewrtitlebm4

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Extreme Warfare Revenge: WCW 1998 series! Indeed, the series has proven to be a big hit on my blog since it began last year. A lot of blog views have come off the EWR series and I do thank you all that checked it out. It’s a really fun game to play and it’s nice to see others checking out my WCW storylines. I’m very grateful to you all.

HOWEVER, the series has been on a bit of a hiatus as of late for a number of reasons. Firstly, I wanted to get back to doing a number of the things that I started off this blog doing. I wanted to do a lot more real-life analysis of WWE and it’s programming, as well as bringing back the reviews with my WWE Battleground 2015 review. Also, I’ve developed the “How I Would Book…” series which has really taken off in its own right. I think it’s fair to say people like to see fantasy booking and that’s good to see!

I’m all for people getting creative, especially with wrestling. And that’s one of the reasons why I love playing EWR. It gives us the chance to show the world how we’d book wrestling shows ourselves.

cV691-g0HgU.market_maxres

I’m happy to announce that I AM planning to bring back the series once again with the WCW 1998 save! I MIGHT do a PPV or two with the TNA series but I’m unsure about that one. My main focus will be the WCW EWR series as that’s the big hitter. I can’t say for sure how many PPVs I’ll be doing but I will tell you that I’m planning a “re-upload” of sorts of my last post, WCW Fall Brawl 2000. I’m just going to upload it again and tidy it up a bit with the storylines and stuff which I didn’t explain thoroughly enough before due to… well let’s call it time restraints. That’ll be re-uploaded as well as the follow-up PPV “Halloween Havoc”, which I did a while ago but I never actually got around to posting it on the blog. But that’s in the books and it’s just a matter of me writing it up.

So yeah, I can guarantee that you’ll see those two posts soon on the blog. The Daniel Biggerstaff challenge which I introduced will STILL be going on. Do click on this link to find out all about that little side-plot added to the series!

Before any of this happens, I would like to do a recap of everything that’s happened so far. Consider it a “Season One Recap” if you will, with everything that happened up until Fall Brawl 2000. That PPV had a “Season Finale” like feel to it so it does kinda make sense. This will be kicking off what I consider to be “Season Two”.

However, I will be working on other aspects of the blog too. I do want to continue with the How I Would Book… series and I have a lot of plans for that. Therefore, content for THIS series isn’t going to be as intense as it used to be! So if we go weeks or months without a post, I do apologize. However, I hope you’ll appreciate the other content on this blog in the mean time. If you guys needing catching up on the series, here’s a list of every blog post from “Season One”. And be sure to follow us on Twitter @ArmbarExpress for updates and postings of new content!

cV691-g0HgU.market_maxres

Hello guys. I hope you guys have been liking the EWR series as of late. It’s a totally different direction that I’ve taken my blog in since I started the series a few months ago. It’s been a lot of funny and this update is to tell you where that’s at, what kind of content you can expect and all the other projects I have in the works at the moment.

The good news about the blog is that it’s been booming in views for the last couple of days! The EWR series in particular has been a huge contributor to that and that’s good to see. Thank you guys so much for checking the series out as of late and I hope you’ll enjoy the next few months in WCW EWR! We’ve just done the Great American Bash and you can check out that post on this link!

Next on the horizon in that series is Bash At The Beach and we’ve got quite a card lined up. A lot of feuds have ended a lot of exciting new ones have been brought into the fold. In the game, I still have a lot of Nitros and Thunders to book before I get to the PPV so it might be a few days before it gets put up on the blog. Even though, I still have a bit of card in my head for the PPV. The main event of Bash At The Beach has already been decided.

It’s going to be Raven, the leader of the Exiles and the REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNDISPUTED WCW Heavyweight Champion of the World going up against… Booker T!

Yes, Raven vs Booker T is happening at Bash at the Beach as Booker T was injured for his scheduled title match against Raven at The Great American Bash. So he’s getting his title match here! Who do you think will walk out the WCW Title? Vot on the poll below!

Here is the updated full list of EVERY WCW post I’ve ever done! If you want to go back and relive all of the past posts and see what’s led us to this moment. Hell Slamboree 2000, the PPV I had Perry Saturn defend the WCW Television title in a battle royal! You can relive all of my booking, from the moments of genius to the moments of out-right stupidity! So I might come back and do a few posts soon. Would you guys like me to go back to the TNA series or should I just knock it on the head? Comment below on your thoughts…

EXTREME WARFARE REVENGE: WCW 1998 – UPDATE #1

cV691-g0HgU.market_maxres

What’s up guys. It’s WCW Booker Thomas Robinson here to update you about what’s going on with the WCW EWR series I’ve had going for the last few months. This is pretty much to say whether I’m going to continue with it, whether I’m gonna try something different with it and what you can expect to see in the next couple of weeks…

To keep everyone up-to-date with where the series is right now…

  • I’ve done TWELVE PPVs so far from World War 3 in 1998, when Sting fought Randy Savage for the WCW Title, to Halloween Havoc 1999 when Chris Jericho fought Scott Steiner for the same gold. All of these PPVs are up on the Armbar Express and if you’re an active on the EWBattleground Forum, it’s all on there as well. I’m a frequent poster on that forum, aiding people with names and ideas etc.
  • The current champions on my WCW game are WCW Champion Chris Jericho, WCW Tag Team Champions Bam Bam Bigelow and Curt Hennig, Cruiserweight Champion Yoshihiro Tajiri, US Champion Chris Benoit and Television Champion Rob Van Dam.
  • We’re still riding high as the top dogs in the wrestling world, with WWF getting creamed every week and ECW even going out of business. With that, we quickly signed Paul Heyman!
  • Ric Flair is our WCW President and currently running the ship in WCW.
  • And finally, the top stables are the Exiles lead by Raven and Randy Savage, the nWo led by Eric Bischoff, the Asian Invasion led by Keiji Mutoh and the Paul Heyman guys led by… Paul Heyman!

I like how this series has panned out. I’ve done a full year and I still want to keep it up. However, I feel you guys may want me to try something different which I totally understand. It is why I’ve decided to do this….

I am moving to another mod of the EWR game for now but will come back to WCW later on. I’m going to be doing a game with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling with the February 2010 mod. I was very tempted to do a 2015 game with TNA and Destination America but I wanted to go back to 2010 because personally, I hated TNA in 2010.

In 2010 after Hulk Hogan came on board, so did 20 different guys that TNA didn’t need and were so pointlessly signed by the company. Guys like Sean Morley, The Nasty Boys and Orlando Jordan that no-one really cared about as well. This is why I wanted to takeover the company because I would get to show you how I would have handled with all of these guys and it gives me a chance to see if I can point TNA in the right direction! Give them a chance to battle the WWE and kick their ass!

So yeah, I am moving on to a different game. However, I did do two more WCW PPVs before I began the TNA game up and will be uploading WCW World War 3 1999 and WCW Starrcade 1999 some time this week I imagine. And then I will begin the playthrough of TNA 2010! The first PPV will be Destination X and I’m looking forward to it.

So the schedule is….

  1. WCW World War 3 1999
  2. WCW Starrcade 1999
  3. TNA Destination X 2010

I hope you guys look forward to that. All three of those PPVs have been played. It’s just the case of writing it up. Be sure to look out for that on the Armbar Express blog! In the meantime, checkout the other twelve WCW PPVs I’ve done to see how we’ve come to this point in our EWR adventures!

Part 1 – World War 3

Part 2 – Starrcade

Part 3 – Souled Out

Part 4 – Superbrawl

Part 5 – Uncensored

Part 6 – Spring Stampede

Part 7 – Slamboree

Part 8 – The Great American Bash

Part 9 – Bash At The Beach

Part 10 – Road Wild

Part 11 – Fall Brawl

Part 12 – Halloween Havoc

Before we part ways, I just want to give a HUGE shout out to the NewLegacyInc folk who did an awesome job with their Royal Rumble Marathon all in the name of the Australian charity BeyondBlue. That charity helps with those suffering from depression. I’m sure we all have experienced with it in one way or another and I dig any charity or anyone in general that helps out with the cause. Anyway, nL did a marathon with rumbles from 38+ games and ALL of those matches are up on their YouTube right now! They even had Vince Russo on the stream for a while! I’m making my way through it right now on YouTube. I watched a lot of the early part of the actual stream they did but due to work commitments and stuff, I hadn’t been able to watch anymore than that. So I’m going to watch ALL of them! I’m currently half-way there! If you want to watch it yourselves, I’ve put the playlist down below!
