Stipe Miocic vs Junior Dos Santos
Junior Dos Santos won an incredible UFC Heavyweight Title eliminator at UFC on Fox, overcoming Stipe Miocic via unanimous decision in a fantastic battle.
Joe Rogan described the contest a fight for the number one contendership, with both Dos Santos and Miocic high in the Heavyweight rankings.
Both fighters went blow for blow, for heavy shots from the get go in the round.
The second round seemed to only just go to Miocic with him connecting with some big time punches and Dos Santos missing the big hits.
But this was no doubt a war and round three proved to be a crucial one for Dos Santos
A huge hit by Dos Santos in the third round floored Miocic, giving him the confidence and the abillity to hit a few more hard shots to Miocic.
Early in the fourth round, Miocic went low with a kick to temporarily stop the fight
This followed up with Miocic getting some offense back in with him having him on the floor at one point, but Dos Santos got back up quickly.
Dos Santos came back with some heavy shots and Miocic hit a few of his own.
A nice takedown by Dos Santos a minute from the end of the round got him some huge point, but a nice switch from Miocic prevented Dos Santos from finishing it!
By the fifth and final round, it was a simple case of hit for hit.
The two top heavyweights gave everything they had to floor the other, with a couple of hits from both men almost ending the match.
The fight ended with both men still on their feet, as were the crowd who gave them a well-deserved applause.
The fight was awarded to Dos Santos via unanimous decision, making him a huge candidate to be next in line for a shot at the UFC Heavyweight Championship
