What is up guys? Tom Robinson here with my thoughts on Monday’s night edition of RAW.
Just a couple things to say first:
The Star Of The Show, AJ Lee
Most of the attention of the show was centered around the lovely AJ Lee. AJ turned on John Cena in the ending of TLC, by shoving him off the ladder. On RAW, she first won herself the slammy for “Kiss Of The Year” for he snog with John Cena a couple of weeks ago. Then again, the other nominees for Kiss Of The Year included CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Kane who all kissed, yes, AJ Lee. I don’t like how they made AJ out to be such a slu… nah, not gonna say it. Eve Torres and John Cena could be added. Eve Torres and Zack Rydder could be added. I don’t like how bad that made AJ seem. Anyway, she accepted the award, and Vickie Guerrero said that AJ should give an explanation for TLC, and AJ says she doesn’t care what people think of her and she doesn’t have to give an explaination for anything. Vickie and AJ bicker, until Dolph Ziggler came out and tried to seperate them, this led to AJ leaping on Ziggler and giving him a big old kiss, with Ziggler starting to enjoy it. That certaintly got Philidelphia cheering.
Ziggler tried later on to cash in Money In The Bank after Sheamus attacked Big Show with a chair, but John Cena stopped it. Then Ziggler complained to Vickie, and the two argued back and forth, which ended with Ziggler dumping Vickie… FINALLY!
A mixed tag was made for later on that night, with the team of John Cena and Vickie Guerrero facing the team of Dolph and AJ. Alright tag match, which saw AJ skip off to the back after getting into a scrap with Vickie. She reappeared along with Big E. Langston (sorry, but I had no idea who this guy was until I looked it up. It seems I need to watch NXT more often), who attacked Cena causing a DQ. Langston then stood over him, while AJ skipped around.
A rather interesting development in the AJ storyline, with AJ getting enforcers to help out. Why does this storyline to me draw parralells to Posion Ivy from the Batman comics (yes, massive comic book fan here!)? I mean, Posion Ivy basically has the abillity to turn everyone she kisses into her slaves. AJ getting stocky guys to fall in love with her and do whatever she says may be a very interesting. First Langston, and maybe a couple of other guys from NXT and an army of AJ-followers to make AJ more relevant than ever. Holy S**t.
Also on the show…
The Nature Boy! The Limousine Ridin’, Jet Flying, Kiss Stealin’, Wheelin’ Dealin’, Son of a Gun!
WOOOOOOOO! What an amazing moment right there to see Ric Flair return to RAW. WOOOOOOOO! And I gotta tell y’all, with a tear in my eye, this was the greatest moment of the night. Good to see the WWE/TNA issue solved, and Ric Flair presenting the slammy for Superstar Of The Year was very fitting. John Cena won that award (calling bullshit on that one like) and gave it to Ric Flair. Of course, cue CM Punk, stylin’ and profilin’ in crutches with Paul Heyman alongside. CM Punk said he should have won and that the entire slammy was a joke (which was spot on). Flair and Punk got into a schuffle which saw Flair put the Figure-Four-Lock on Paul Heyman. Then Shield came out to attack Ric Flair, who got back up with Team Hell-No and them 6 scrapped. Flair was about to be put through the announce table, when Ryback came out for the save.
Tommy Dreamer Returned To WWE, teaming with The Miz and the new face in town Alberto Del Rio, to defeat the 3MB. It was actually a pretty good 6 Man Tag Match. Dreamer then got attacked by The Shield backstage. Also, the two teams of Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes, and Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara traded 1 on 1 victories, with Mysterio beating Sandow, and Rhodes beating Sin Cara. Good to see that “injury” I thought Sin Cara had wasn’t as bad as feared and that he actually competed. Triple H teased a return from the Undertaker. Tensai jobbed to Kofi Kingston (do you remember when this guy beat John Cena in the main event of RAW in April? Ah, how far he’s come). Funny comedy moment with the New Age Outlaws presenting a slammy, and the Boogeyman appearing was a genuine shocker for me. Ryback squashed Cesaro. Kaitlyn beat Eve in a non-title match. I don’t think I missed anything out… oh wait…
Overall a good show in my book to follow TLC. That’s 2 great nights of WWE programming. Let’s hope the Live SmackDown! keeps up the momentum.
